But that’s the only other instance in our database going back to 2005 that there were two steals of home in the same PA.

The thing about this is no matter what threshold you use (0%, 10%, 50%), there’s going to be a borderline case that makes you mad. This is also so much easier visually than trying to decipher if a ball was 49.9% in the strike zone.

I’ll never understand why there are people who think pitches this close shouldn’t be overturned by ABS The ball is touching the zone. It’s a strike. The player should be rewarded for challenging a pitch that close and being correct.
