Y'all, this is 100% not how I expected this to go. It turns out, I'm not crazy! Not only was I not hallucinating, but what remained of my mind correctly identified someone I think I hadn't seen since high school. But the kids were way too old for hiking backpacks. #bm100

I love this time of the semester! I think that the awesome @jengolbeck does this assignment partially because, due to the network effects, she gets to explain viral content to tons of random internet people (who get mad about the assignment) and not just her students.

My end-of-year nudge for fellow PhD advisors: Have a focused "annual review" meeting with each of your students. Tell them what they did well and how they can improve. Ask them what else you can do to help them succeed. I can assure you it will be rewarding!
