𝐅𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 Women are especially targeted and this needs to be put to an end. Sure, the top is shaped nicely and appears to be high quality. However, looks can be deceiving Take a peak at the materials for this top - rayon - nylon - elastase Do you know what these fabrics are made of? - plastic - plastic - more plastic We know that synthetic fabrics like these cause various health issues, ranging from basic skin rashes to more serious things like endocrine disruption and infertility Oh, and they shed more microplastics than any other product in the world So what gives? What warrants these absurd prices? I can guarantee the cost to produce this top costs less than $20, it’s probably closer to $5-10. We as consumers need to wake up here, you can get real natural clothes for a fraction of the price that will last longer, make you feel better, and actually are sustainable The choice is yours

In 1988, Patagonia opened a store in Boston. Soon after, employees began complaining of headaches. At first, no one knew why. But they eventually figured out that the workers were being poisoned by formaldehyde present in the cotton clothes in the store. At the time, conventional cotton used 22.5% of chemical insecticides and 10% of pesticides, despite occupying only 2.5% of agricultural land. (It still requires more pesticides than any other major crop.) This led Patagonia to commit to transitioning all of their cotton products to organic cotton way back in 1994. They did this when the organic cotton supply chain didn't really exist. And they did it in only 18 months. I don't like Patagonia's use of recycled polyester and other synthetics, but they deserve credit for leading the way and helping to build the organic cotton supply chain both in the US and overseas. Now it's time for some new brands to disrupt the toxic clothing market even further!

𝑾𝒂𝒚𝒗𝒆 𝑯𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒐 👋 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝑾𝒂𝒚𝒗𝒆 𝑾𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝒔𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒔! Seeing my idea become tangible after several months is extremely humbling and rewarding The samples look and feel great overall! I will make some small tweaks and finalize them shortly. As much as I want to order in bulk and launch already, quality comes first and I must practice patience Hope you enjoy the sneak peak, my friends 🌊🌊🌊

Bad news about Pact. Now using cotton-polyester blends. Not 5% polyester... close to 30% polyester. This is what happens when companies drift away from their original mission and try to coast on the strength of their brand.

A diseased, nearly dead human has a frequency of around 15; as does polyester, rayon & silk. The human body has a signature frequency of 100 as does organic cotton. Anything below 100 puts immense strain on the body. Always prioritise natural & organic fibres where possible 🌿
Sir Barefoot@SirBarefoot

Stop weaing polyester. Polyester is synthetic plastic clothing. Microplastics will sink into your body through your skin. Wear natural fiber clothing only.

PVC in 'vegan' leather exposes textile workers to vinyl chloride - a Group 1 human carcinogen, as classified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). This is an inhumanely high health risk that workers have to face, yet no one's paying attention.

Fashion activists care more about sheep getting sheared to produce wool (a natural process, by the way) than garment workers inhaling toxic, 'vegan' leather PVC at work, which causes cancer, liver disease, birth defects, and neurological damage.

There's no such thing as certified organic bamboo. The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) doesn't certify bamboo as organic because it's almost always melted and regenerated using a viscose/rayon process. In other words, it's not considered a natural fiber.

The beverage industry can recycle plastic bottles many more times. But once turned into fashion, the bottles will always end up in a landfill or incinerator. There's no way to reuse recycled polyester. It's not eco-friendly. And it's horrible for your health.

If you say NO to single-use plastic, yet say YES to recycled plastic in your garments, you're a victim of greenwashing. Recycled polyester is made from single-use plastic bottles, putting the fashion industry in competition with the beverage industry.

I recently purchased this sports bra from Pact (95% organic cotton, 5% elastane), and it feels better on the skin than my previous conventional cotton one that required polyester padding. Thick material, nice design, amazing color - 10/10

If you ever feel stupid, remember that there's people who see this warning but still buy the product because they saw someone else wear it on TikTok.

Other people: - I like it, I'll buy it. Me: - I like it, but is it polyester? *turns the garment inside out to read the label* - Knew it! *puts it back on the shelf*

@vitafas There must be a hidden agenda behind this because some sources say recycled polyester is more expensive than its virgin counterpart. So, I'm doubting that this is just about greenwashing at this point.

"59% Recycled Polyester, 29% Polyester, 8% Lyocell, 4% Elastane" I guess they ran out of used Pepsi bottles. Waiting on the next shipment of Sprite bottles. Why do they make a polo shirt so complicated? 100% organic cotton is all it needs.

@Prenomjesse @dyjimgi Uniqlo's materials are good on paper (natural, no synthetic blends, etc.), but they lack durability. I bought their wool sweaters 4 years ago and they started piling very quickly. Significant wear & tear + the overproduction, which is why they're fast fashion.

@dyjimgi People hate on Uniqlo? Lol. It’s good to just ngaf sometimes I guess. I wouldn’t even call them fast fashion, but affordable basics? Some seasons their colors are wonky, but anyways..

I love Uniqlo. Been shopping there since the aughts before it came to America. It's the best fast fashion chain for basics - their clothes are well made and designed, fit well, especially for Asians, and priced nicely.

@dyjimgi I will never understand the uniqlo hate.
