Our EOD techs checked out the suitcase and it turns out that it was a smoke detector that was beeping inside. We have opened the street.

At 12:09 pm, we received a call that there was a suitcase behind some bushes that was making a beeping sound. We have temporarily closed the street while our EOD techs investigate. In meantime, the 1700 block of Shattuck Ave is closed for vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
