Flying between African cities forces many travelers to transit outside the continent, through London, Paris or Dubai. But a $12.5 billion airport under construction in Ethiopia could help change that. cnn.it/4mLS4Bj

If you are planning to attend the FIFA World Cup 2026 I've got some info for you. We've had a briefing with the American 🇺🇸, Canadian 🇨🇦 and Mexican 🇲🇽 embassies in Nairobi this afternoon: ▪️ The US has a ‘FIFA pass’ meaning if you have a FIFA World Cup 26 ticket your visa interview will be prioritized. ▪️If you hold a US/Schengen/Japan visa (multiple entries) it’s eligible to admit you to Mexico. ▪️Canadian visa is a standalone so you need to apply. ▪️Match ticket is not a visa guarantee. ▪️During the World Cup if you happen to be in Mexico or Canada and decide to drop by Miami or any US state for another game, it will be very hard to secure a visa at the US embassies. There's a policy to do the process in your resident or home country. ▪️Football fans are urged to apply for visas as early as possible.

4 weeks to go until #AfricaForward Summit ⏳🌍 As we continue the countdown to this milestone moment for Africa–France partnerships 🤝, on Sauti za Africa Forward 🎙️ we spotlight voices shaping how Africa tells its own story; through leadership, ambition, and purpose. This week, we feature @vivianonano , founder and director of Leading Light Initiative, an organization dedicated to empowering young people through education 📚, economic empowerment, and leadership development. An alumna of Sciences Po 🎓, Vivian reflects on her journey from Starehe Girls’ Center to Paris 🇫🇷, where her academic experience, networks, and support systems deepened her understanding and appreciation of France and strengthened her global outlook. In this video portrait 🎥, she describes the Africa Forward Summit as a powerful moment for Kenya 🇰🇪. She also highlights the opportunity it presents to showcase Kenya’s youthful talent, vibrant civil society, and its growing influence as a hub for diplomacy, technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation. More importantly, Vivian underscores the legacy of such a platform: a future defined by opportunity, where young people and women across Africa gain stronger pathways through collaboration 🤝, investment, and policy commitments that amplify their voices and potential. 🔊 Skia Sauti ya Vivian on why this moment matters for Kenya, Africa, and the next generation of leaders. 📣 Stay tuned... the conversation continues as we count down to May 11–12. @francediplo_EN @SingoeiAKorir @ForeignOfficeKE
