Sad/bad times seeing a quality, independent source of boxing journalism closing its doors and a host of excellent journalists now out of work. I loved reading the work of many writers at @boxingscene and there is more of a need for that kind of journalism now than ever before.

@MatthewAguilar5 @stokedsport Also to throw into the mix: Kirkland Laing, Paul Spadafora and Harry Simon.

@stokedsport You’ve obviously never heard of Tony Ayala Jr. You should research him.

Legendary artist Tony Stella has passed away...
He's known for his incredible poster and Blu-ray artwork celebrating cult cinema, martial arts films, horror, and classic genre movies. His detailed painted style became a favorite among collectors, especially through his work with Arrow Video and other boutique labels.
His artwork left a major mark on the world of physical media and cult film culture.
Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to his family and loved ones.

Not many people know this but the symbol on Nottingham Forest's badge is an outline of Martin O'Neil's hair from when he played there.
Its often mistaken for a tree 🙄

When Batman killed the Joker...
Emir Han@RealEmirHan
In American Psycho, Christian Bale improvised the moonwalk in this scene. Director was delighted by the improvisation and kept it in the film. However the novel's author, Bret Easton Ellis, disliked it, finding it one of the less desirable parts in film.

👏 To the PR working on this one.

@JonSpurling1 We all want Arsenal to win trophies but no manager or tactics are going to overcome the most stacked squad in the league each season with the Financial clout to buy whoever the need should it go to pot by Christmas. I think Arsenal have been superhuman this season.
English

@JonSpurling1 Is there another club in Europe that has gone this deep into their domestic and European competitions while staying top of the league whilst managing injuries to at least 7 key players? - I don't think so.

@mandrzeje @snboxing ...Pickney. It's those two losses to gatekeepers or Journeymen whatever you want to call them. He doesn't have the CV of a Duran that outweighs some of his losses to lesser foes so unfortunately for Jones his name remains absent from the ballot.
English

@mandrzeje @snboxing Unfortunately for Jones, he's not very fashionable - rarely the headliner, reputation for being a bit chinny and those two losses in quick succession, John Michael Johnson & Pinckney. Tbf he was caught late by Johnson who finished him and then he moved up in weight against...

Junior Jones is another excellent fighter who belongs on the IBHOF ballot. Wild that he’s not.

29 yrs ago April 18: Junior Jones outpoints Marco Antonio Barrera over 12, retains WBO 122lb title, Hilton LV. In rematch of shocking Jones KO five months earlier, Barrera utilizes boxing skills to avoid Jones’ power punches & performs well, but loses highly controversial UD.
English

@snboxing @mandrzeje People most likely balance the Barerra wins with the losses to Morales, McKinney and Ingle rather than factor in his wins over Canizales, Jorge Eliecer, Boom Boom and Patterson which were all decent scalps to have on your record (at any stage of your career).
