Hysterical thing to say to a native american. yeah im sure theyre finding this out for the first time right now

@DecolonialMarx @m_i_c_h_i_c @FoxyMarxist You can't organize if you're being persecuted, demonized, deplatformed or deported. Deal with reality for what it is. Poeers that be can physically impact economic and physical realities, we have no choice but to shape them. This ultimately protects the work we do on the ground.

There are people behind their screens who see these rescue workers tending to a girl and her father, and they press a button and end their lives, then go get lunch as if they are not monsters who should be in prison for life
Hussein of the south@EyesOnSouth1

The moment Zionists massacred a team of rescue workers in a double tap. First they killed a father and his daughter, then bombed a medical team that arrived on the scene with their ambulance

@T1DME You want them to get people mobilized and organized on a large scale. That's what you just said. My point is ask them to share meaningful projects and communities, propose to share your work with them on stream. Many just want to lay back and complain they're not not catered to.

I never said that streamers are organizers.
Gilberto Morishaw@bertmangil

@T1DME Streamers aren't organizers. Their position is in essence tactical. It's up to organizations and organizers to engage and leverage the field of crop that is becoming ripe for the picking. Engage with the audiences invite them to participate locally, regionally and nationally.

@T1DME Ask Hasan to elevate some projects and how others can get involved with them. Be proactive and not just petty.

You and I disagree on practical matters; there is no preaching to the choir. And focusing your attention upon discourse, steering conversations, the like - in order to remold the norm - is a tactic; but it is not a strategy as of yet: to take you from point a, to b, to c, to d.
Gilberto Morishaw@bertmangil

The purpose for discourse is about steering conversations into the direction that mainstreams pro-justice narratives and make that ultimately the norm. Only preaching to the choir of people who already agree with your point serves only ego.

@DecolonialMarx @bertmangil @FoxyMarxist you have zero - literally zero - power outside of elections. No paramilitary, no support within the military, domestic police hate us, labor unions are nearly non-existent in the private sector and dwindling and even then they aren't marxist. you are building nothing.

@T1DME The power and currency of a streamer/public advocate is their platform. That's how they're able to shape and convince people that have political power to listen to their ideas. You want them to not use their power to do this and thereby become ineffective. Useless ego exercise.

"...it degrades to the position of an apologist for facts." You don't say "whelp, that's how the system is", that sort of common nonsense, which is most of the time said out of isolation; as if putting your head in the sand will protect you from truck headed right our way!
Gilberto Morishaw@bertmangil

@T1DME The obsession many people have with platforming is silly. Immorality and genocide are normalized by the system. Platforming people that push against the status quo is subversive. Having them be a part of the conversation has an impact on them as much as the reverse.

Useless exercises in moral grandstanding on the left by people that exist in totally different environments than they're in. Of course if you're from a place where everyone is cognizant of certain issues it will seem like madness that people platform those who don't fully agree.

Everyone needs to start actually working and organizing and building instead of this perma-purity testing bullshit that accomplishes nothing but the ruin of the very platforms we need. They wanna bring Hasan down for what purpose? Who's there to fill the vacuum?

It doesn't require having them on a stream with a large audience to push them.
Gilberto Morishaw@bertmangil

@T1DME Anything else is an ego exercise. I'm too good/moral/ better than them will not save a single life. Engaging, pushing , inviting, elevating voices that show change will.

@T1DME Meaningfully what you are saying isn't the truth. Arms embargo on Israel is a good thing, defunding them is a meaningful thing. You gotta take the wins where you can have them. It's a systemic issue, and you gotta work with individuals who show they can be moved when pressured.

If an individual wants to try to move them away from their zio-fascism, and influence them towards supporting BDS, that can be done in private, on own time. But allowing them on - after years of genocide - and *still* being against Palestinians in practice - that's different.
Gilberto Morishaw@bertmangil

@T1DME Saying to not associate with the most popular progressive voices in their country because they're not yet fully onboard with the BDS definition is shooting yourself in the leg. You want to embrace a wider audience on their path towards political consciousness.
