@jennalaib I saw it as the student likes to add numbers that are "friendly." So - let's make 208 -> 200 and let's make 384 ->375. But then we have 17 extra we need to add back in. So many not so friendly after all - but cool nonetheless to realize they can manipulate the numbers like that.

My first dog, as an adult, had to leave me today. Buttons was a good girl. We’ve seen so much together. 14 years of love, laughter, and protection (bc she was my lil guard dog) was enough. 🌈

@SandDadSF This chart shows when each problem type is intended to be explored. There are unknowns in lots of problems, but students solve by comparing the operation to a known calculation, or use a counting method.

@bowenkerins Yes - I'd avoid "circle" in the directions. Box, color the two figures, draw a line under the two shapes, ... something like that.
