@betterpowerhaus
independent organelle vote for chloroplasts for organelle in chief, you knew about chloroplasts before any other organelle!

@thecellskelly @murphyapbio I'll give the cytoskeleton credit where it's due, supporting the shape of the cell and all, but I am not sure how a skill in maintenance correlates to a good leadership role? At least I know I #provide
English

@BigBoyNucleolus creates ribosomes, and that's great and all, but how does that benefit the citizens of Eukarya? You make the ribosomes, and then they do the dirty work for you...great teamwork... #sarcasm #smh #dictatorshipmuch @murphyapbio
English

@MightyThe83259 @murphyapbio @MightyThe83259 @murphyapbio Mitochondria says I can't do anything without them, but let's not forget the only way they can create energy is by using the oxygen that I produce! #itgoesbothways
English

Despite both originating from the endosymbiotic hypothesis the chloroplasts can’t do anything without us. Plants need the mitochondria to break down the macromolecules that are produced by photosynthesis. @murphyapbio @betterpowerhaus

@murphyapbio @for_oic48726 The cell wall may be important for structure in plant and fungi cells, but how can it benefit the other cells in Eukarya? At least I, the chloroplast, can benefit all the diverse cells directly or secondhand!
English

So @golgi12554 transports proteins and lipids throughout the cell, but where is the leadership? Maybe fit for a job at amazon or ups, but certainly not the leader of Eukarya. #nottheone #tryagain @murphyapbio
English

@murphyapbio No chloroplasts means no plants, no plants means no herbivores, no herbivores means no protein from animals, no protein means no #gains.
English

@murphyapbio Even though your plant is missing we chloroplasts are making sure it's healthy. :)
English

@murphyapbio Since chloroplasts are essential for photosynthesis, they're vital in the production of oxygen and therefore needed for cellular respiration. Imagine the world without oxygen !
English

@murphyapbio
Imagine what plants would look like without chloroplasts.
Trick question: they wouldn't.
Think about that when you vote for me.😏
English

@murphyapbio Chloroplasts are not part of the endomembrane system since it's function does not align with the other components of the endomembrane system, which is to support the structure and function of the cell, (Wang 2014).
English

@murphyapbio This means that chloroplasts existed as their own free prokaryotic organisms before being absorbed by eukaryotic cells, eventually existing in plants and supporting photosynthesis, (Nature Publishing Group, 2016).
English

@murphyapbio They are an evolved form of prokaryotes which used to exist as an independent organism. Scientists theorize that chloroplasts are an endosymbiotic relationship between a eukaryotic cell that absorbed a prokaryotic cell.
English

@murphyapbio Chloroplast's primary function is supporting photosynthesis in plants. They contain chlorophyll which absorbs light needed for photosynthesis. This process involves the transferring of electrons that move through a chain in the thykaloid membrane, trapping light.
