Following on from our post last week, here are some 'before' & 'after' photographs of boundary restoration works at Trafalgar Street Church. Like at 53-55 Beverley Road, Trafalgar Street Church once had boundary walls & railings separating the property from the street.

Luckily, one of the Church's original gates has survived. We were able to refurbish this & reinstate missing gates and railings based on its design.

Take a look at these 'before & after' photographs of 53-55 Beverley Road, where traditional boundary railings & walls have recently been restored.
The works were based on historical archival photographs & surviving parts of this Grade II property, thanks to @HeritageFundUK 🤞

The new railings are based on surviving parts of the original structures, and we've rebuilt brick walls and piers with original materials where possible.
One of the gates at Trafalgar Street Church was still in place and has been refurbished as part of the works.

As excavations continue, so do new discoveries on site! Here, we've uncovered a chamber not on the original drawings, which will now create an additional interpretation area. The stained wall areas show the height of earth & rubble that have hidden it since the Blitz in 1941!
