And the impact of hearing the local #NHS contacting her about the move to a #ClosedLoop system

An indirect but consequential aspect of throwing AI at healthcare: it permits making explicit considerations in decisions previously implicit and opaque. For example: "Why did you bill more for patient A compared to patient B?" The answers can inform policy (and/or motivate some LLM builders to steer/align them to obfuscating explanations).

one conversation we should be having more, especially in healthcare: is this an AI problem or a policy problem? a big challenge in American healthcare stems from the reality that our healthcare strategy changes with every administration throwing AI at problems that are well-addressed by policy innovation (e.g., AI for payer-provider RCM war) feels like a gross misallocation of resources solution sets are rarely zero sum – in truth, most problems will require policy, tech, and human interventions, but it's worth asking ourselves whether AI is the best solve when we have a multitude of options

@Tims_Pants Could be useful in hospital settings as a proxy for sepsis/infection.

Is it just me or does there seem to be a lack of utility in a CGM that sits on the forearm and the only way to read it is it changes colour when in, above and below range?
And I'm not talking from a data perspective.

@ATTDconf @Tims_Pants Interoperability of #diabetes technology - #PwD's view -@Tims_Pants
✅ Data sharing can be an issue
✅ #PwD should be able to choose who they share their data with
✅ #WeAreNotWaiting gives standardised data
⚠️ It is MY data

@parthaskar @PHU_NHS Let's chat about how this impacts diabetes technology, data rights, and government funding for medical devices.
English

@parthaskar @PHU_NHS Fun: I worked at Meraki implementing "bring your own device" networking policies for network operators, later acquired by Cisco for over $1bn. Since, I've worked on similar "BYOD" networking concepts relevant for insulin pumps and CGM. Nightscout and openaps are prime examples.
