I’m seeing a lot of love for Vicky, Ali and Damon and rightly so but I also want to give a huge shoutout to Kate Brooks. She’s just produced and delivered the first ever WLW wedding on #Corrie in 66 years, a historic moment. That’s not just a job or TV, it’s meaningful, it made an impact. It's the fact she achieved all of this while being married to a woman herself makes it even more special for her. This isn’t just storytelling to Kate it was personal, and it’s something she can one day show her children and be proud of how she helped this show evolve. Every achievement like this matters and deserves to be recognised and celebrated by everybody.

Happy Lesbian Visibility week! I was 35 when I came out. After years of trying to reconcile what I felt with the world around me, it took me a long time to be comfortable enough to live authentically. While I was in my own head I was lucky that the world moved on around me, people fought for my rights, media recognised the need to have people like me represented, and isn’t it amazing that one of Britains biggest soaps will televise its first successful wlw wedding this week.
