@Nigel_Farage How come you didn’t make this much of a fuss when similar observations were made of the election that Sarah Pochin won by 6 votes?

Our electoral system needs reform, we must scrap postal voting unless absolutely necessary, and we must enforce the right to a secret ballot. If nothing changes, I fear for the future of British democracy. telegraph.co.uk/opinion/2026/0…

Indeed, it is the bare minimum for any PM. Starmer needs to step up or step out.

@bindelj Call me wildly idealistic, but I like to think we'll one day have a PM who gives a shit about protecting the rights and safety of girls and women.

Nope, the UK is fast on its way to becoming a muslim majority country i wouldnt be surprised if within the next 50 years the church of england gets sidelined and the UK falls under Sharia where women are codifed as 2nd class citizens. People joke about a handmaids tale happening in the us with a Christian theocracy. I think it's the Uk that should be worried about an authoritarian islamic theocratic regime taking over. Factor in the birthrate collapse, and you can draw parallels. The minarets will be the 1st sign that its time to migrate out of the uk. Your women and girls are in danger, and parliament has been ideologically captured. Its so bad that this vey moderate post mught land me a police visit if i were in the uk . Which is sad to me because if time travel were a thing 1984 London is 1st on my list. Along with 96 ireland 2002 scotland

Laurence Fox is a wonderful actor. Since a 2020 appearance on Question Time, when he said correctly that ours is not a racist country, he has been unable to practice his craft. Loz was excited last week to be offered a lead role at Theatre Royal Winchester. The offer was cruelly withdrawn today because they said his politics did not “align” with the theatre’s. A place of art is not supposed to have “politics”. Tom Stoppard, the greatest British playwright of the past century, was a high Tory but he somehow managed to produce works of rare genius and audiences were in thrall to his talent. That’s what counts. “Without free speech there is no art,” Laurence Fox says. You may not like his politics, but his right to practice his craft should be defended. Shame on @TRwinchester for denying their patrons one of the loveliest voices they could wish to hear. A country that silences its actors is not a civilization worth having.

@CatharineHoey Did anyone ask the Chagossians if they wanted to be displaced by the British when we kicked them all off so we could loan Diego Garcia to the US military? Or are you seeing them as an opportunity now?

This really is an outrageous statement by the Labour Government after pulling the Bill for a vote on Monday How dare they accuse Lord of being reckless and irresponsible. They are clearly rattled that their attempt to pay millions of taxpayers money to GIVE away British territory has been rumbled and Lords looking at the detail have a right to disagree. Security was never an issue The ADVISORY international legal judgement should have been ignored and British interests put first along with the rights of the Chagossians to decide whether they wanted to be British or Mauritian. “The Government remains fully committed to the deal to secure the joint UK-US base on Diego Garcia, which is vital for our national security. “This is irresponsible and reckless behaviour by peers, whose roles is to check legislation, not interfere with our national security priorities.”

Britain is cancelling elections. Britain is arresting 12.000 people every year for social media posts. Britain is banning conservative commentators for their political opinions. How can Britain still be considered a democracy at this point?

I point out the basic fact that we are having imposed upon us radical policies that were not in a manifesto. That there has been zero recourse to any form of plebiscite for pretty extreme positions. That we have a Government that 80% of registered voters expressly did not choose who are now doing things that millions are horrified by. It's very simple. I speak on behalf of empirical truth - something that is optional when it comes to the megalomaniacial modern left.

A political party’s manifesto should be legally binding. When voted into power, if the policies outlined in their manifesto are not implemented within an adequate timeframe, or deviation is attempted. An immediate general election should be invoked, allowing the public to better hold governments accountable.
