Finally fulfilling my dream of staying at a chic cozy tiny home (rental) in Joshua Tree and hoping I receive a strong signal from the universe that more of this is in store for me. My soul is happy.

I was worried about students hearing me in class, between the mask and being fairly tied to my desk, but in fact the larger problem is me hearing my students. Many of my students would not have been projecting in front of a class during normal times (1/?)

First 30 min of hybrid class time I have one-on-one conferences with each in-person physicist. This week I asked “what is one thing you liked about in person classes last week?” (First week). SO MANY said “I liked meeting my teachers” and that warms my heart! #pandemicschool

During a check in, a 10th grader says “I just feel really awkward since I haven’t really been around people since it happened”.

Excited to announce I’ve accepted a position as a physics and math teacher at a Middle College HS in San Diego county and I couldn’t be happier. I feel so cared for by my god, who has been patiently hearing out my pleas for years .

I was naive and immature when I started at my current school 7 years ago. I am now wiser and more tempered, and have accepted that the work is going to be hard and take a long time to make small meaningful changes.

It’s difficult when a teacher is brought on to a school surrounded by hope that things will change, but then is not set up for success. That is my story. Thankfully, while I’m excited, I’m making sure not to have any expectations going into my new setting. Just bringing myself💙
