Lieutenant Allman, a dedicated firefighter with 23 years of service, currently works at Fire Station 21. Lieutenant Allman holds a remarkable distinction as the first firefighter in the history of the Birmingham Fire & Rescue Service to have a prosthetic leg.

Birmingham Fire & Rescue Service was dispatched to a house fire with a possible person trapped at the 1700 block of Alameda Avenue at 10:20pm. Crews arrived on scene and saw a one story house well involved. Crews immediately began a fire attack on the structure.

The occupants of the home were able to escape from the structure without assistance from the fire department. There were no injuries. Engines 9, 23, & 28, Quint 27, Squad 1, Rescue 27, EMS 4, Safety Officer 1, Fire Investigator 4 and Battalion 4 responded to the scene.

Birmingham Fire & Rescue Service was dispatched to a house fire at the 1700 block of Winewood Road at 1:06 p.m. Crews arrived on scene of a two story house with heavy smoke showing. Crews immediately began a fire attack. During the attack, the roof of the structure collapsed.

Crews were able to quickly estinguish the fire. At this time crews are working to put out hotspots. Engines 12, 19 & 26, Quint 27, Rescue 19, EMS 4, Training Officer 6, Fire Investigator 6 and Battalion 3 responded to the scene.
