@Cadon7 That’s like Tom Hanks returning from the island, eating a McDonald’s and saying it’s the best food he’s had in his life. Man U fans have been starving.

It’s a bit disheartening to see such a milestone moment—where a player is celebrating one of the biggest achievements of his career with his partner—being framed as something "inappropriate." The below thought in the post, relies on a few problematic tropes, including the use of a derogatory term and the "think of the children" argument to police normal human affection. I have never understood that line. I remember watching Titanic in 1998 with my grandfather and mother, and their first reaction was asking me to close my eyes. I saw it and loved the painting scene and the sensual scene inside the car as an expression of human affection. It only made me appreciative of human expression back then as a young kid. Also dekha jaaye tho, Sports isn't just about stats; it's about the human spirit. Seeing a player share a moment of love with his partner after immense pressure is a great teaching moment. We should teach children that successful, strong men aren't afraid to show affection. That’s a 'high standard' of emotional health. Using a classist slur like 'Chapri' while demanding 'high standards of behavior' is quite ironic no. Aapka bacha phir kya seekhega? If a child sees love and asks questions, tell them the truth: it’s two people happy and in love. That’s much easier to explain than why we use derogatory language to put others down If you can explain a googly or a powerplay to a 6-year-old, you can definitely explain a hug and a kiss between a husband and wife. It’s love, not 'nonsense.' Let’s not project our own inhibitions onto the kids. We are in a free world and people need to appreciate love more than aggression and war. Sachin, Kohli and Dravid are icons, but so is the modern athlete like Hardik, who wears his heart on his sleeve. Greatness doesn't have a single personality type. Hardik is in a league of his own. Pandya's journey—from being booed by crowds months ago to defending the final over of a World Cup—is an incredible story of resilience. Why do we praise Kohli when he sends flying kisses to Anushka but tend to call it out when Hardik does it. Sure you may find it a little over the top, but we hardly know anything about their emotional struggles as a player. Let’s give them that space and grace Hiding affection from children makes it a 'taboo' instead of a normal part of life. Let’s teach the next generation that winning is sweet, but sharing that win with the people you love is what matters most. It is such a beautiful moment. In almost every other global sport (Football, Tennis, Olympics), athletes celebrating with their families and partners is considered the highlight of the broadcast. To phir why is this being seen as problematic. I think we need to tell the next generation to love more and the beauty of sharing a moment with a partner. Nothing ugly about this.

This match demonstrating how the current format of 4 groups of 5 is useless. This loss will have no bearing on Australia's chances. A 4-team group would've created a lot more jeopardy. The 2007 WC changed cricket for the worse.
Himanish Ganjoo@himganj153

5 groups of 4 - 2 groups of 5 - semifinals - finals is a better format than this. 53 games vs 55. Currently, the first round is too long, has very little jeopardy, and with seedings doesn't even have bearing on the next round fixtures.

3-2-5 IP, a double pivot consisting an academy graduate midfielder, an asymmetrical back 3 formed by one full back tucking in build up, 4-4-2 without the ball & a nice derby win. 20 yrs in the making & gaffer of the winners started in the middle in the 2006 game. Lovely cycles.
