At what point does this become a match fixing inquiry? This last week has showed what everyone thought for years but couldn’t really prove anything. Now the proof is here for everybody to see.

Over the years, getting far more things right than wrong, Peter Lawwell has been a huge figure at Celtic, presiding over many triumphs. Whatever the debates about the running of Celtic today, it is a dreadful day for the club when a chairman has to bow out like this, under threat and intimidation from so-called supporters. The truth is, Celtic’s great city rivals would have given their right arm to have had the wisdom and stewardship with which Lawwell has led Celtic in the early 21st century.
There is a legitimate debate to be had today about the running of Celtic, and the club certainly has to embrace new ideas and new leadership. These last six months have been dire. But nothing can take away what Lawwell has given to Celtic over all these seasons. The arrival of Brendan Rodgers, especially, in 2016 was a pivotal moment in the club’s history, and a coup for Lawwell and Celtic.
Celtic supporters with a wider sense of the club’s history will remain fully appreciative of this man. And as a footnote: Lawwell’s drive and determination to build up the @FoundationCFC - something not every football club CEO and chairman would make a priority - has ensured that the modern Celtic has remained true to its founding roots.
Peter Lawwell is to be applauded.👏

Nearly 1 in 3 schoolchildren in Glasgow do not speak English as their first language. This is not diversity. This is culture smashing. Reform UK will make this a big issue in our campaign. 🏴
