🚨The Trump admin has filed its reply brief in the birthright citizenship case before the Supreme Court. It opens: The “main object” of the Citizenship Clause was to grant citizenship to freed slaves and their children, whose allegiance to the United States had generally been established through generations of parental domicile. By contrast, aliens who are just passing through the United States, and those who cross our borders illegally, lack ties of allegiance and do not obtain the “priceless and profound gift” of citizenship for their children. To receive citizenship under the Clause, a person must be both born “in the United States” and “subject to the jurisdiction thereof…” That language grants citizenship to children “completely subject” to the United States’ “political jurisdiction.” Children of temporarily present or illegal aliens do not qualify because their parents are not domiciled in, and thus do not owe the requisite allegiance to, the United States. Temporarily present aliens are by definition not domiciled here, while illegal aliens lack the legal capacity to form such a domicile.

President Trump has for decades vowed to punish Iran for the Forever War it has waged against us, including preventing the mullahs from obtaining a nuclear weapon. President Trump has pursued peace and offered more generous terms than the mullahs ever deserved in pursuit of it, and found himself tapped along and rebuked at every single turn. President Trump decided enough was enough and that the most propitious time to crush The Regime was now -- or we would let a generational opportunity slip away, with Iran becoming North Korea except with substantial oil, control over strategically significant chokepoints, and as the key Middle East linchpin in an axis with Russia and China. We can have a good faith debate about the size, scope, and nature of the threat of the world's leading state sponsor of jihad, and how best to neutralize it. But that isn't what this letter from a person tasked with countering terrorism -- countering the very practice Iran's regime perfected and deployed around the world and against Americans -- reflects. President Trump didn't cave to pressure from anyone -- let alone a country a fraction of America's size, or American Jews who support a strong Jewish state that is our key force multiplier and linchpin of our strategy to reduce our Middle East footprint and presence. And instead of euphemstically speaking of Israel's "powerful American lobby," those who invoke this line should say what they really mean. They should also tell us whether they believe the lobbies representing countries and peoples myriad times the size of Israel and the Jews, with wealth and influence vastly outsizing that of Israel and the Jews, also exert such undue sway and push the president and our government around. Do they believe President Trump and the U.S. government lacks agency? I cannot fathom the grief one must feel to lose one's spouse, in war or otherwise, but the notion that tragedy occurred "in a war manufactured by Israel" is 100% false. It is totally contradicted by the record. (And, point aside, the wars America prosecuted post-9/11 had the effect ultimately of destabilizing the Middle East and empowering jihadi forces Sunni and Shia, helping lead Iran and proxies to rise as the chief threat to our interests and Israel's alike. That is, they ultimately served to our shared great detriment.) So too is the notion that conniving Israelis and Jews deceive America's leaders to get Americans killed in service of their own favored causes. (By the way, Israel has fought and died killing our shared foes, avenging the deaths of countless Americans. It's one of the few countries that does not ask Americans to fight on its behalf -- while helping us develop vital weaponry, testing it for us, providing us invaluable intel, etc.) But it's a common trope exploited by those who have wished this smallest of minorities ill since time immemorial, or minimally held it in contempt. Who is actually being conned by a misinformation campaign? Who is behind that campaign? To what end? The best one can say is that it is better to resign from such a critical post -- rather than resist and undermine from within -- if one cannot in good faith serve.

Nothing like The Regime's defenders lamenting the cost of the Iran War while totally silent about the fact their beloved Obama-Biden delivered many multiples the price of this war thus far -- tens of billions of dollars -- to the mullocracy's coffers in the way of Iran Deal and unenforced oil sanctions. And this is to say nothing of the reduced costs in the way of cheaper oil and infinitely less military presence in the Middle East on the other side if this mission is successful.

Sorry, it was NOT a point made during your convo with @RCPolitics. It was a point made by @CNN and @ABC , likely others, to government officials in the immediate aftermath. I have no beef with your statements, but I believe it is an easier case against Don Lemon than the @RCPolitics panel made it out to be - as you will see here with heavy implications to the Don Lemon fact scenario - x.com/OldGoldHawkeye…

@bhweingarten - hi. I heard you on @RCPolitics Reporters made a comparison government officials just after the Lemon fiasco that he did nothing different than reporters tagging alone with police as they arrest someone. But isn’t the more appropriate comparison the bank robber who tells the reporter in advance so he can film and interview the victims and celebratize his unlawful act. No reporter would say this is 1st amendment. If you brought this up, sorry.

That the would-be Michigan jihadi sought to massacre American Jews at an American synagogue after Israel eliminated his Hezbollah relatives exposes the truth that for genocidal Jew-haters, Israel and Jews are indistinguishable. “Anti-Zionism” is a front.

Reminder that Murphy took off the books secret meetings with the Iranians...right after it came out that Biden's top guy on Iran was literally heading a spy ring FOR IRAN! The extent to which Democrats directly collaborate with America's enemies is greatly under-reported.

It’s crystal clear now that Trump has lost control of this war. He badly misjudged Iran’s ability to retaliate. The region is on fire. 1/ I’m going to explain to you in this🧵what I’ve learned - in part from closed door briefings - about the four biggest current crises.
