@la_louve_rouge_ Oooooh. I like this idea a lot. I think maybe more than a tweet. Take Shelter might be a candidate but maybe not disengaged from family life enough actually hyper invested. Perhaps a model for the dad thriller dad's affective state?

The function of the dad thriller is to disengage from family life while upholding family values.

@elias_greig Even I think the last two federal elections feed into this idea ... there has been some kind housing reform policy at the fore but it's been very weak I think hedging with the electorate of investors/bank of mum and dad and those without access to asset wealth.

@elias_greig The asset economy folks have run some numbers on this & it's not too long before those in extremely precarious housing are the majority... there's a weird interference with aspiration clouding it's "majority rules" power but definitely the forecast from them is its surely coming.

@RColesworthy I feel like epigraphs are a cornerstone part of the folk tradition! All epigraphs are fair use!

@RColesworthy I think it's so crazy that you can't epigraph without permission. I'm dealing with that rn and was shocked by the rule. Has it always been the case?

Re epigraphs: I had one for every chapter. Then I read my publisher's website; it said epigraphs aren't covered by fair use. As an indie scholar w/ $0 I thought NOPE. Deleted them. Rewrote my intros. Now I know I prob could've gotten away w/ them but I have NO regrets. Ditch 'em!
