adulting really humbles you. i finally understand why some people go quiet, stop posting, or just disappear from social media.

I used to think I needed to pace myself in relationships, like I should hold back a little so I don’t come off as too much. That never really worked for me. When I care about someone, it shows in everything I do. I check in, I remember small details, I make time, I show up. There was a time I tried to match someone’s energy and be distant, and it felt unnatural the whole time. I realized I’m not built like that. If I’m with you, I’m present. Fully. I don’t clock out emotionally or take breaks from caring just because it’s convenient. Even when I’m busy or tired, it doesn’t really change how I feel or how I show it. It might be a lot for some people, but that’s just how I am. When I love someone, it’s consistent. There’s no off switch for it.
