this discourse is really starting to rub me the wrong way. everybody picks up their music taste from certain points & people in their life, we aren’t endowed with it. yet it’s only women who are questioned on the authenticity for their love of ‘obscure’ music?

Proof that 70s/80s music references in her songs are Dan Nigro's doing. The Cure and yacht rock and other obscure bands she's brought up in interviews are the music taste of a 45 year old white man, not a girl in her 20s. She's always trying too hard with these references.
