@Tyler_Chris007 @queenie4rmnola I became a supervisor after 15 years. I had severed in the army. The didn't want me to have the position. Everyone in the department knew that I would be guaranteed a spot. But instead they promoted a white guy who couldn't read.

As to racists, we should do all we can to rid the world of them. While you are correct because "Diversity is good, broad, feel‑good statement & most people don’t object to the idea that different backgrounds & perspectives can enrich a group. But that’s not the real debate. The real debate is: What happens when diversity becomes the deciding factor instead of competence? As some roles — like surgery, aviation, engineering, military special forces, etc., require elite, measurable performance. And the qualities that determine success in those areas are merit and not racial.
