There's an idea in philosophy called Chesterton's Fence. The principle is simple: before you tear down a fence, understand why it was built. It might look pointless. The person who put it there knew what it was keeping out. I see this constantly in protocol governance. Proposals to "simplify" tokenomics or "streamline" mechanisms. The proposer sees complexity and assumes bloat. They never ask what problem the complexity was solving. Every protocol has load-bearing walls disguised as clutter. The job is figuring out which is which before you start demolishing.
