Its cool that were getting a new Hunter: The Reckoning game but I think The World of Darkness IP is just fucked cursed lol. Vampire: The Masquerade was a spoof and they can't ever make a good game in this setting ever again. I'd love to be proven wrong.

A fun dynamic with Asa/Yoru in CSM is that she's way more dangerous to Denji on an emotional level than Makima was in part 1 because Yoru by the end is just totally ready to enable Denji on his quest to Always Be Chainsaw Man. If they actually teamed up he would've never stopped.

Liked the chainsaw man ending. A part of me wishes Fujimoto went full firepunch with it, but given the really unsubtle speech pochita gives denji in the penultimate chapter this feels appropriate too. Hope he puts out some killer one shots soon.

Whatever happens tomorrow I think Fujimoto is just one of the best to ever do it. Even starting with Fire Punch he has just genuinely not cared ever about upsetting his audience. It makes sense that he takes heavy inspo from Tsutomu Nihei who I think is similarly polarizing.

The alternative to what this guy is suggesting is basically the last couple of Assassins Creed games and they are pretty much all dog shit. Having quests/missions with a clear vision on how the devs want the player to experience the story is a good thing lol

@LegoKingo Its funny that he brings up BOTW because the shrines are just completely disconnected from the narrative, you just take an elevator to a "Check out our physics tech demo room". It's one of my biggest gripes with that game, it doesn't fit at all with the overworld.

The video mentions uncharted 2 and botw as games that are more successful bc they’re totally narrative based or totally open world based, and i fundamentally disagree with that assessment. RDR2 is the best game of the three bc it understands how to stand in both worlds.

I don’t think there’s tension between these two design philosophies. RDR2’s open world gels beautifully with its mission design. The contrast is even built in to the story: an open world that’s yours for the taking vs the fact that there’s only one tragic way this story can end.
