A lot of games are shutting down. Projects disappearing. The hype is gone, and what’s left… is reality. Web3 gaming got obsessed with tokens and forgot to make good games. Too many whitepapers, too few players. Too much hype, too little community. But some of us chose a different path. In 2021, we started @suragamingteam very humbly, with a scholarship system in @AxieInfinity. We didn’t know much about the industry. No contacts. No structure. But we had the drive. Little by little, we became big-actually the largest Web3 gaming community in Latam with over 2,000 scholars, 15+ pro players, and around 20 content creators and influencers. In September 2022, we showed up in full force at AxieCon in Barcelona -yes, literally the biggest team there with 15 people. That’s where we truly learned what it means to build a community around a game. And we did it shoulder to shoulder with the Axie team in the region. Then more games came. And we were still there. We started working with new projects, driving real growth, with real gamers, in real markets. Many of those projects weren’t mature enough, so we started helping. That support turned into an incubator: Sura Labs. But they also needed capital, so we created Gamino VC, our investment arm. We invested in equity, tokens, and NFTs of more than 10 projects. Education has always been a core value: We launched the first postgraduate program in Gaming and Metaverse in partnership with Axie and Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA) @IALAB1. Today, we run 3 programs in blockchain gaming with UTN (Universidad Tecnológica Nacional) @frbautn -both public universities in Argentina. In May 2023, I started working with the @BGameAlliance as Ibero-LATAM Representative. Then in July, I was elected Board Member through an open vote — a huge honor. I get to work with an amazing team led by @borgetsebastien In 2024, we launched operations in Brazil with a local team @suragamingbr organized online and IRL events, and participated in the world’s top gaming and blockchain events. In October, during @ArgGameShow, we launched the first proof of concept of the Sura App, acquiring nearly 4,000 new non-Web3 users in a single weekend. By the end of the year, understanding what the market really needed, we merged Sura Labs and Gamino VC into @SuraVentures, our venture studio that now lets us channel all resources in a unified, stronger, and more robust way. Today we back founders who are building games with real models, strong IPs, and sustainable communities. This may sound like one of those shutdown posts, but it’s quite the opposite. What’s coming: 🎮 Sura Gaming: in July we’re launching the new version of our App, a platform built by gamers, for gamers. With all the Web3 tech under the hood, and a Web2 mindset on the surface. A fully integrated loyalty system, quests and rewards like never seen before, a wallet of course, tournaments, games... it’s wild. A platform where gamers can earn, level up, and redeem rewards in crypto, fiat, products, tournaments, drops, and more. All in one place. 🚀 Sura Ventures: we’re launching the $SURA ecosystem, a unique, purpose-driven token, not a fundraising token. We’ll connect dozens of games through a single token, designed to be sustainable, robust, and stable. We’re acquiring studios (fully or partially), investing whatever it takes to relaunch them, channeling grants from chains that truly see gaming as the engine of the onchain economy, and applying a revenue-first mindset. To make this happen, we built a world-class team: 25+ years of experience in the gaming industry, with real experts in game development and tokenomics. People who actually know how to build games. How did we do all this without raising money, without launching a token, without selling NFTs, without memecoins? (That’s a question @Jihoz_Axie asked me over lunch in Buenos Aires during one of his visits) With business brains. We invest, grow, reinvest, and keep growing. We don’t fake metrics.
