I usually rock with tough drills but this one........... Not it. This type of drill has the smell of a coach with a sick mentality and massive ego allegedly creating toughness but really putting his players at major risk. 3 on 1 with all having running starts is wild!!!

In my research… there’s only been ONE rookie LB to come into a Vic Fangio defense and actually take over MIKE early. That’s Roquan Smith. And that wasn’t just some regular rookie — that’s a high-end, elite processor. But here’s why I’m confident in saying this… That wasn’t some “they just got lucky” moment. Lets look at that 2018 class 👇🏾 2018 LB Class: • Roquan Smith (Bears) — Took over MIKE early in Fangio system • Tremaine Edmunds (Bills) — Day 1 MIKE at 19 • Leighton Vander Esch (Cowboys) — Took over midseason (Pro Bowl) • Fred Warner (49ers) — Became elite MIKE shortly after • Darius Leonard (Colts) — DROY • Josey Jewell — Became a trusted MIKE in this same tree This class was LOADED. Multiple guys that could: ✔️ process ✔️ communicate ✔️ actually run a defense So when Fangio trusted Roquan early… He wasn’t guessing or even got lucky. He identified a dude in a DEEP class that could actually handle it. I believe that’s the bar! If you think a rookie is about to walk into a Fangio-style defense and run MIKE Day 1… He has to be a high end guy in a LOADED class.
