My @TorontoStar column: Bike Share Toronto is booming. We’re smashing ridership records. But it’s not enough. The growth still leaves us way behind bike share ridership in Montreal With better balancing and more infrastructure, I think we can beat them thestar.com/opinion/contri…

Share your feedback on a proposal to close a gap in the cycling network between Danforth Avenue and Cosburn Avenue. Additional neighbourhood safety measures for pedestrians are also planned as part of this project. Visit Toronto.ca/leasidedanfort… to take the survey by June 20.

Montreal is once again showing the rest of North America how to transform a lot of streets for people — 8 commercial streets in #Montreal are “pedestrianized” [turned into great people-places] this summer, with 7.3km across 6 boroughs. Plus small sections. montreal.citynews.ca/2025/05/26/mon…

Yesterday, @BikeShareTO reached a record 36,000 trips! In addition the 14-day average is about 20% higher than this time last year. The popularity of the system is exploding, and our governments need to support a safe and connected cycling network.

Justice Schabas said he may issue a temporary injunction, blocking the government from removing the bike lanes, in the next few days. He said he didn't like the idea that his decision "might be moot" by the time he delivers it. #onpoli thetrillium.ca/news/justice/j…

This is so wild. On the eve of a Charter Challenge to the removal of bike lanes the realities of road violence again arise: "Police search for driver after 4 pedestrians hurt in hit-and-run on TMU campus" cp24.com/local/toronto/…

Ford promised bike lane removals could happen today onward in TO (Bloor W, Yonge, & Uni). That means we’ve got to be vigilant! Eyes open! If you see construction crews amassing to remove lanes, post/tag local cycling orgs & advocates. Send pictures. Be safe & don’t interfere.

It's never been clearer that we need more ways to get safely from A to B, not less. That's why I'm joining @CycleToronto this Saturday from 2-4pm, for their Kidical Mass Ride at Queen's Park. You can find more here, as we fight for safer streets for all: cycleto.ca/kidical_mass_a…

Thank you for this excellent report. A great snapshot --- for the third year in a row --- of cycling in Toronto. A must read for the cycling and road safety advocate. #biketo

When all is said and done, *this* will be the biggest boondoggle of the Eglinton Crosstown. When the 14 years of construction and budget overruns are long forgotten, people will be asking why we built it in the first place if the line is not given traffic priority.
TTCriders@ttcriders

Who should get priority? A few cars or 100s of transit riders? Ask Councillors to give transit the green light: ttcriders.ca/greenlight This video (taken yesterday at Leslie & Eglinton) shows an Eglinton Crosstown vehicle waiting at a red light while a few vehicles turn left.

Last night people bikes rode in the rain for bike lanes. Immediately @TorontoPolice were antagonistic. A dozen bike cops arrived early & took over the main gathering point. The bike cops attending were the same ones who had arrested the Fridays Stantec protestors 1/5

Disgusting display, @TPSMyronDemkiw, yet sadly unsurprising -- TPS never miss an opportunity to screw people on bikes.

Meanwhile, every day drivers by the dozens choose their convenience over our safety by parking their vehicles illegally in the Bloor bike lanes. They do so with an apparent sense of entitlement and impunity created in no small part by the lack of enforcement by @TorontoPolice
