I wouldn't usually boast like this but you know what publishers are like... It has been an extraordinary journey of discovery. It's out in April. @vikingbooksuk
@campbellclaret Doctor death AKA @campbellclaret 100,000 dead and you have the front to criticize others.
No other spin doctor in UK has casued so many deaths What a life time achievement !!
Why do remainiacs worship someone with so much blood on his hands?
Tory Party spin doctor just told me that they don’t know where Truss is, and they can’t find any MPs apart from Redwood and Bridgen to defend the government so they are trying to get the line running that the run on the £ is all Labour’s fault. “Bollocks but we’re desperate”
@49pixels@supertanskiii Adam your reasons for supporting the monarchy end up being they might bring money in and they seem vaguely benign.
They are neither of those things, try watching the Suez crisis episode of the Crown, that might prove my point more than I can
@bilkiboy@supertanskiii Mark, I have kindly asked you to answer my question.
Instead of an answer, I get a bombardment of anti-royal opinions blasted at me.
I see you're very passionate about this subject and the last thing I want to do is offend anyone.
I simply asked the question.
“While we struggle to heat our homes we have to pay for your parade"
Huge respect to that man for saying it. The royals are the most hardcore variety of Tory that exist.
@bilkiboy@supertanskiii You haven't given me a shed of evidence that the royal family doesn't benefit the UK.
If you only want to rant about the royal family in general, this tweet is not the place.
Go find a royalist who is equally as passionate and upset eachother... If that's your kink
@49pixels@supertanskiii It does not make us a profit as we have already argued. If anyone can cut ribbons why elevate this mob?
If we are going to have an hos let it have a point. I hate the hierarchy it also stands for, no one is better than you Adam
@bilkiboy@supertanskiii I'd agree if the royal family were actually doing something that endangered our society.
As you say they are ribbon cutters, a head of state which has been muted.
It's the bells and whistles that we can roll out, people enjoy, and makes us a profit.
@49pixels@supertanskiii The family are as flawed as all the rest of humanity (it could be said that the premise of exhalation has distorted their attitudes to the rest of us) and no better than anyone else
Therefore to distort and pervert democracy to assist them is immoral, and infantalizes us
@bilkiboy@supertanskiii Royals are effectively groomed into the job these days, trained from birth.... Unlike a president.
Trouble is that everyone is corruptible, whether royal or president.
It won't make a difference.
But at least royals (probably) generate more money than a president
@49pixels@supertanskiii If you or I stuck our nose into things we were not qualified for we would be ignored, so why should he be treat differently?
Plus he is not only not qualified he is also not affected by these issues and is often a hypocrite (jets in enviro events etc)
@49pixels@supertanskiii Why do you think, despite all its travails that Charlie hung on in their? Maybe no other job could afford him such riches, and given him such influence in areas he has no qualifications for. Architecture, town planning, and environmental etc
@49pixels@supertanskiii This idea of being groomed is really nonsense, it's not a hard job shaking hands and cutting ribbons in return for keeping your mouth shut
Plus the rewards of astronomical wealth, soft power, massive swathes of land, and bizarre deference make it a persuasive job
@49pixels@supertanskiii Money really isn't the point, even though a pres would be one man not everyone in the family.
Plus corruption, in a country with a constitution and accountability it isn't necessary, with a monarch shrouded in mystery it will always be the case just what some deem acceptible
@49pixels@supertanskiii No we need a written Constitution and a president who shakes hands but is also an ombudsman for said constitution.
Therefore checks and balance with pm
@supertanskiii@bilkiboy They do generate money.
I care about people.
We all need to co-exist.
Many won't agree with us, and sometimes that's okay.
The 'I dont care' attitude is not useful though and will only encourage the opposing side to be more 'c**ty'.
Open debates, not arguements
@49pixels@supertanskiii It is impossible to tell but that is not the point. We are supposedly a democracy which is the idea which their presence perverts.
Plus immoral to raise to that position based on birthright
@49pixels@supertanskiii Do you remember Harry and willy doing sponsored motorbike ride across S Africa for charity?
It raised £150,000 but actually cost taxpayer £400,000 to keep safe
@bilkiboy@supertanskiii Can you give me a number?
Even if it's a minus (I can take it!)
Just give me a number!
You don't know me, you've responded negatively to my tweet, the least you can do is disprove my previous comment.
Hit me!
@49pixels@supertanskiii A few years ago when Andrew called himself trade envoy he had a report commissioned of monies he personally brought in.
On receipt of info he didn't publish. Proving him a deficit?
@49pixels@supertanskiii It's not profitable though. People stand and gawp outside Buck House when there is no one there.
Imagine if they could pay to stay there?
@bilkiboy@supertanskiii So how much does the royal family make for the UK? - it's definitely profitable
If people want to come here on holiday due to the royal family that's their prerogative.
Many love the royal family.
Whether you like it or not.
Be considerate
@DazzlingDaz3@supertanskiii Unifying force? Don't be stupid.
We have nationalist governments in two of our four home countries for a start.
They are a force for division and against democracy
@supertanskiii I normally agree with you but not sure on those Tan.
This govt has deliberately set us against each other for years but the RF are a unifying force. That gives us something to build on.
Christ knows what we'd do if we didn't have even that ☹️
