The Swift Mentorship Program is back for 2022! This is an opportunity to learn from and build relationships with other folks in the Swift Community. If you’re thinking about participating, checkout these insights from a few of last year’s mentees:

Becoming an open source contributor to Swift is easier thanks to the Swift Mentorship Program. Here’s what the first cohort learned from their mentors: swift.org/blog/mentorshi…

Myth: planning a wedding is a joyous process, full of love and celebration Fact: planning a wedding will surface ALL of your family drama, and eloping will inevitably sound very attractive

This is my favorite improvement from #WWDC21 , because it uses my first Swift Evolution feature! If you’re curious about this fancy new closure parameter syntax, check out github.com/apple/swift-ev…

It might seem like a small thing, but this is actually a pretty big deal. Thanks for listening to our feedback, and bringing bindable list items to SwiftUI, @lucabernardi, @natpanferova, and team! #WWDC21 #SwiftUI

Really excited to share the next Diversity in Swift project: the Swift Mentorship Program! If you’re interested in contributing to open source Swift projects but you’ve found the process challenging or you didn’t know how to start, this program is for you.

Just a quick IWD shoutout to this lady who not only significantly out-earns her partner, but works tirelessly as a mentor, teacher, and role model to all. I’m lucky to be one of many that benefit from her resolve, intelligence, and (often undeserved) patience.

@twostraws Keypath expressions as functions (SE-0249)! Particularly useful when mapping IMO: struct Person { let name: String } let people = [Person]() let names = people.map(\.name)

Most of these "offend a programmer with a single tweet" messages are weird. What's a good Swift/Xcode tip you can fit in a single tweet? I'll start: if you have a method that returns a tuple, you can destructure it like this: let (username, password) = getCredentials()

@Untamabelle I don’t know exactly how many, but I know there was an effort to fill seats w vaccinated fans. I think at least a couple thousand tickets were gifted to frontline workers as a thank you (and who of course are vaccinated). Likely still very dumb though 😬
