I wanted to give an update and have you hear it from me. On November 19th, I had an awake craniotomy at OU Health with Dr. Ian Dunn, and I’m grateful to say the surgery was successful. I lost my speech for a couple of days afterward. That’s why I am just now getting this out. Those were some of the scariest moments of my life. But I’m back on track, speaking, fighting, and ready to push forward. The second photo is a selfie I took while awake during surgery. Ryan Sharp inspired me to take this. I’m so lucky I have found him for this process. He and his family have been a beacon throughout this journey, and their guidance and support have meant the world. To everyone who has prayed, messaged, donated, or shown love, thank you so much. The support from my family, friends, teammates, the Gamecock family, the Rockies organization, and my girlfriend has carried me through some of the hardest days I’ve ever faced. I couldn’t do this without you guys. When my girlfriend asked, “Why you?” I told her: I was chosen to fight. This has been the hardest month of my life, and I know the road ahead won’t be easy. But I will not quit. I will fight every single day to get back to my life and my dreams. One step at a time. One day at a time. I’m strong. I’m coming back. I can do this. Thank you all for lifting me up. I can’t thank you enough. ❤️
