@KristyT I remember like 6 years ago seeing some folks on twitter ridiculing FB recruiters in their linkedin DMs who were trying to offer them a job that would have completely changed my life. Felt real bad, like if you dont need the opportunity fine, but have some perspective

Totally worth it. People give up decades for much much less. And you can totally rest for a year or two and get that energy back. There is a lot life left to live. The "risk" here is totally made up.

FAANG is the ultimate faustian bargain - give up your dreams, your hopes, your youth - in exchange for like 10 mil. 10m is a lot of money. Most people never see that money. But you have to give up a decade of your life. That decade, the energy you had, won’t come back.

@asallen @antonio_zamudio @ridd_design I was gonna follow up with this statement right here… everyone I know in hardware is still a little heated from us stealing their title.

@antonio_zamudio @ridd_design Only software designers who've worked with industrial/product designers can appreciate this.

@zendadddy @nick__pattison Transitioning from B2B to consumer was tough for me. Hiring managers just assumed my skills weren’t transferable. When interviewing with a B2B case study there’s also a lot of extra overhead to explain the problems you solved. I understand why it’s not appealing to some.

@nick__pattison And I can understand why. It's just so much more fun to work on well known brands you can actually talk to people about, rather than some internal tool that only HR professionals use.

@Apple Photo’s facial recognition algo confused pics of me with a screenshot with @Winston_Duke. I’ll take it. Best compliment I’ve ever received 💀

@Zachinpublic What did I miss? I got dragged back onto this app because they sent me a notification you posted this lol

@SubstructureDek @Carnage4Life Idk being able to talk about why your product or service is good is just as important as your product being good. Targeted ads don’t always decide whether or not a good product survives. But they can definitely be helpful. I know plenty of businesses that thrive on referrals.

@Carnage4Life Small businesses shouldn't be relegated to dealing in niche markets. Whoever makes the best product at the best price should win out. They don't because of the structure of the advertising industry.
