@seaninsound I think the rising price of vinyl is an interesting topic at the moment. Many people I know who work in music and make records don't earn enough to have the expendable income to buy them.

The big issues the music industry needs to address in 2023 1. streaming royalties 2. vinyl’s environmental impact 3. inclusivity 4. ticketing scams 5. “disrupted” media ecosystem 6. burnout 7. brain drain to other industries 8. friction with the creator economy What else?

@ClayPipeMusic I noticed this recently, having not long ago started looking more frequently towards CDs as demand for them rose while vinyl got so expensive and slow. But CDs have really shot up in price since I last did them a few years back.

Looks like nice glass-mastered CDs in reverse board gate fold covers (not the mini CD series) might become untenable, I've just had a quote that is nearly twice what I paid six months ago. It's so frustrating it's great to have them in stock when the LPs go.

@jamesmckz I found The Man Whose Head Expanded on the Rough Trade CD compilation when I was about 10 and looking for 'funny named songs' in my dad's record collection, and loved it. After that, probably about 6 years later, I think it was Hex.

What was your first Fall album? Not necessarily your favourite but the one that opened the doors? I heard them played on radio by John Peel in the mid/late 90s but was too much of an indie soft lad to get it. Not properly on my radar until ‘The Unutterable’(2000) #noturningback

@Albums200 @fergusson70 Shot From Both Sides and interesting one in this context as it's a riff Shelley gave Devoto as a present as well (I think), then he used it himself in Lipstick! I like it as a sort ground zero from the (both great) directions each went in from that same point.
