To fight Zoom fatigue, give people the freedom to turn their cameras off. New experiment: videos off reduces exhaustion and boosts engagement—especially for women and newcomers. Cameras off doesn't reflect disengagement. It helps to prevent burnout and promote attention.

My TA orientation suggests to start classes with loud noises or flashing lights to get students' attention. For the sake of those students, please don't. It's stressful or worse for those of us with neuro disorders, anxiety/PTSD, autism, and more. #DisabledInSTEM @JHUTeachAcad

In case you're worried, I'm doing fine overall and I still have my impostor syndrome in check but, holy forking shirt balls, it's taking a lot more effort than usual. That said, if you wanted to send a compliment my way, it certainly wouldn't hurt ❤️

So, uhm, is anyone else's impostor syndrome through the roof lately? Like, I already struggle with impostor syndrome to begin with, but these last two months it feels like it's gone all the way up to 11.

@ClaireZurn I hosted weekly review sessions at 5:30 - late enough that daily classes are over, early enough that people could get dinner afterwards. I rarely could get people to come to "office hours", but if I made a couple slides and called it review it was popular.
