It’s simply not believable that you couldn’t foresee this outcome. No one is anyone’s son here, if you handle distribution this way, people will sell. That’s not a surprise; that’s market reality. And honestly, you should have known this better than anyone. If necessary, the payments should have been structured with vesting. That’s basic discipline, not an advanced strategy. Today, we wouldn’t be talking about a $1 million valuation, we could easily have been discussing $40–50 million. Instead, the same mistake keeps repeating itself across projects, and the response is always the same: “We’re sorry. Our apologies.” But your apology doesn’t bring back my $5,000 loss. Being sorry doesn’t fix broken execution, and it doesn’t restore trust. Poor distribution kills momentum, and bad structure destroys value.
