I’m not a fan of recent push for Mpreg, especially in the BL community & in the omegaverse genre because a lot of it aligns with conservative values. Like the whole “omegaverse are only good when there’s a baby” thing is just repackaged heteronormativity.

i think what many don't get is that just bc "oh, they like each other" is shown, doesn't mean there's romantic buildup & doesn't mean the audience has any reason to care for the pairing.
showing vs telling, this is why shonen noncanon yaoi continues to outsell the canon couples.
