Scale? So you think a genocide that killed 1 million people and completely wiped out an entire race is less evil than one that killed 2 million but wasn’t complete despite having completely identical goals? I don’t think there is any difference between these two things, they are both equally evil. And I don’t see how emphasising one is anything but downplaying the other.

Banning phones in schools is good, I support it. But making it law seems silly. Putting aside the fact that almost all schools already ban phones, how do you enforce such a law? Who will the Government punish if a child takes a phone into school?

@birchpolypore I explain our policy on drug laws in this tweet. And we have had it since 2019, I believe.

I’m not saying a well-informed person can’t oppose decriminalisation and/or legalisation but all who I have come across always immediately demonstrate they know nothing about the UK’s drug crisis or the Greens’ policy with some shit like “they want to legalise fentanyl”. Fentanyl is almost non-existent in the British drug supply and regardless, the entire point of legalisation is to eliminate harmful adulterants like fentanyl, or drugs actually relevant in this conversation like nitazines. No one does these drugs intentionally unless they have no other choice because they have no recreational potential. Reactionaries just jump to talking about fentanyl because they aren’t capable of defending their indefensible position and it’s the worst drug they can think of to demonise progressive drug policy. Under Green policy, only specific drugs of each category, which can be used safely with the safety information we will provide with every dose, will be legalised while the rest will only be decriminalised, meaning you won’t be punished for using them but they remain illegal to sell. Anyone who understands what fentanyl is could immediately tell you it is not one of the drugs that will be legalised, but reading our policy would tell you that too. And something you almost certainly didn’t already know is that most illegal drugs in the UK are already legal for personal use. The most common and well known drugs are, of course, illegal for personal use. But beyond those, all other drugs are made illegal by the Psychoactive Substances Act 2016, which doesn’t criminalise use. Drugs you have probably heard of like synthetic cannabinoids (aka spice or K2), almost all cathinones (aka bath salts), and salvia are already completely legal to use. So remember that next time you see someone who pretends to know what they’re talking about demonising the Greens for wanting to decriminalise the use of spice, a drug that was never criminalised in the first place.

Britain today: Teenagers lock a police officer inside a shopping trolley and attack him outside a supermarket. 🇬🇧

Lots of accusations of racism today after my criticism of Reform for their choice to stand foreign candidates from Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. Uninterested. Restore Britain’s position remains consistent. Foreign nationals should not be standing or voting in any British elections.

Look at these feral cretins just helping themselves to what they want. Supermarkets have bought this on themselves by allowing thief’s to steal their stock without any action or deterrent.

@benonwine Someone who can get locked in a trolley like that by kids has no business being a police officer. He should be a Labour politician.
