Ashlee Horton is a City of Chicago official who serves in the Mayor’s Office as the Director of Executive Operations and is currently in Rome with Mayor Brandon Johnson as part of a 45-member delegation discussing immigration, poverty, and international affairs. As the Mayor’s Director of Executive Operations, as you can see, his operations fell apart a long time ago. Ashlee Horton is what you call a DEI hire and failed socialite who was recommended for this position due to her social connections. But when it comes to government operations, she has no idea what she’s doing. She’s part of the reason why Chicago Flips Red was established because three of her responsibilities are: • Scheduling priorities • Determining who gets meetings with the Mayor • Sequencing issues presented to leadership For two years, she ignored two people who raised concerns about property theft, land issues, and unlawful demolitions. Right now, CPS students are facing devastating cuts while lawmakers in Springfield debate more tax breaks and mega project giveaways for corporations and wealthy developers. This morning, CTU educators boarded buses to Springfield to fight for fully funded schools. The state can close corporate loopholes, tax big tech, and fully fund the evidence-based formula instead of forcing students to lose counselors, teachers, programs, and opportunities.
