@MartyrPanda Man this might be my tribe. Anything pre 87-88 gets a pass for limited technology but that googly eyed sea turtle in the 1st part of Shin was pure hot trash. Like there’s no way that was less of an atrocity than 98

@birdupthere Godzilla '98 is absolutely the only reason the IP survived. Meanwhile, the fanatics fell over themselves, drooling, over the design changes that were made in Shin Godzilla; something Godzilla '98 was castigated for.
She was also a much better addition than Godzilla Jr. was.

I went back read up on all the articles & yt’s and I’m 90% sure it was a smear campaign. I can understand tradition & I also understand why Tristar didn’t want to prescreen it. We were robbed of 2 great sequels imo

@birdupthere I feel like that 98 movie served its purpose, which was to get us the infinitely better cartoon series. I don’t think I hate it, much like Alien 3 my problems with the movie are not the movie itself, it’s what the movie comes from and is in comparison to everything else.
