BIP-361: Some here are not as libertarian as they say they are and it shows... The core promise of Bitcoin is to be unconfiscatable money. This attribute is binary. Try introducing even one exception and the whole concept breaks down (see ETH). Hard NO!

Thoughts on BIP-361: * I know folks don't like it. I don't like it myself. I wrote it because I like the alternative even less. * It isn't a spec, nor is it proposed for activation. It's a rough idea for a contingency plan that needs more R&D. * I hope it never needs to be considered for adoption. * Ultimately, my thesis is that in the face of existential threat, individual economic incentives outweigh philosophical principles.

@eriktorenberg A drastic, but probably effective move would be to give people with children additional voting rights (e.g. proportional to their child count). Besides the shift in power and status, this could potentially lead to more sustainable legislation, not only regarding family growth.

Nothing has worked in fixing birth rates. Financial incentives didn’t work (Hungary), Nordic socialism didn’t work (Scandinavia), restricting women’s rights didn’t work (Iran), totalitarianism didn’t work (North Korea), doing nothing didn’t work (Latin America). What will work?
