Once again, sections of the mainstream financial and political media appear to have raced ahead of the actual electoral reality. The narrative pushed throughout much of the day, including by commentators connected to the , suggested that was heading towards some form of dramatic political collapse. Yet as the results continue to emerge, that prediction simply does not appear to be materialising in the way many confidently forecast. Yes, Labour is losing seats in places, which is entirely normal for a governing party in local elections. But the scale of collapse predicted by parts of the media has thus far not occurred. In fact, in several areas Labour appears to be performing better than many pollsters, commentators and political journalists expected only hours earlier. That rather exposes how quickly sections of the Westminster media bubble can become trapped inside their own dramatic narratives before the full electoral picture is even remotely clear. At the same time, there remains remarkably little equivalent focus on the continuing crisis inside the , despite the party still haemorrhaging support and showing little meaningful recovery under . The wider picture remains what it has been all along: fragmentation. is gaining in some Brexit leaning areas, the are advancing elsewhere, Greens are making gains in parts of the country, whilst both Labour and the Conservatives continue to face pressures from different directions. That is not a uniform national political revolution. It is a fractured and volatile electorate reacting differently across different regions of England. And perhaps once again, some of the mainstream media may end this election cycle with a considerable amount of egg on its face after prematurely predicting political catastrophe that the actual results do not fully support.

@JillBelch Much though I like a graph and a discussion, I’d love to know the correlation between emissions and renewables. If we insist on growth energy production must be consistent and increasing. This naturally raises concerns about the environmental feasibility of replacement.

Driven largely by rapid growth in #solar, clean energy now provides over a third of the world’s power. This is what real transition looks like. (Remember for the cost of Hinckley point we could put solar on 1/4 of the roofs in UK)
Sprinter Press Agency@SprinterPress

In 2025, for the first time in over 100 years, renewable electricity was produced in greater quantities than coal-based electricity Thanks to record levels of solar energy, the share of renewable sources exceeded a third of the world's electricity production.

@CrimeLdn Fair play to the security guard who has very limited powers and most likely very quick basic training. These incidents can easily turn violent. More worrying is the normalisation of these incidents and the prospect of staff and guards losing their lives.

@LondonLabour It’s worth a look the economic conditions which led to young men and women still living at home with parents. And loads of overpriced flats on the market not selling. Do not be blaming the Greens.

Trump: I have declared a national emergency under Executive Order 14156, and I further determine that action to expand the domestic petroleum production, refining, and logistics capacity is necessary to avert an industrial resource or critical technology item shortfall that would severely impair national defense capability. Therefore, pursuant to section 303(a)(7) of the Act, I waive the requirements of section 303(a)(1)-(a)(6) of the Act for the purpose of expanding such capability.

@LondonLabour @paulmasonnews @ZackPolanski Have you spoken to an estate agent recently? The market is flooded with flats. Most likely as a result of labours high financial burden placed on international students. A different sort of housing crisis altogether.

.@ZackPolanski says the Greens only block “luxury flats”. So why are Labour-run boroughs in Southwark, Haringey, Enfield, Hounslow and Newham building more council homes than entire Green-run cities like Bristol? The Green Party is more comfortable on a protest than in power.

A seismic shift has occurred as we enter a new phase of planetary collapse… It is highly visible that a pattern like World War III is trying to emerge. That is being felt and discussed by hundreds of millions of people around the world. The resource hoarders are doing their best to leverage military systems for this end game of the global system. Much less visible is the way stewards of wealth are responding -- as more retract into fear and adopt a bunker mentality as if they could somehow save themselves from what is coming. Also less visible is the awakening of eco-spiritual consciousness among people seeking to live regeneratively and escape the debt slavery of globalized capitalism. Again there are hundreds of millions of people feeling this, even if it is not really being talked about very much. And here is our opportunity -- to find cracks in the "wrong stories" people no longer want to live out. Help seed "right stories" into being. Do what we can to come into healthy relationships once more with ourselves, with other human beings, and with the larger life systems that we are part of. I feel this deeply. It is a heaviness in me because I have responsibilities to support the transition from one realm of story to the other. And I know that time is very scarce. Onward, fellow humans.

@paulmasonnews It’s well worth looking up the extraordinary list of countries who helped the British win the 2nd World War. By the way Iran and Iraq were also helping us out.

@HistoryBoomer @unicornsftw I spent half of last year in and around heart failure patients. I’d bet a substantial percentage of these people had animal saturated fat stuck to their artery walls. There are no bookmakers taking those bets, although the poly market probably would.

@ClarksonsFarm1 Are we talking about the local producers who have routinely polluted the River Wye and left it in a horrific state? Cost saving is at the expense of animal welfare, profit, our environment and health. Industrial scale farming, an appalling blot on our history.

An investigation by the CAevs found that in some areas of Wales, Chinese and Thai chicken accounted for 99% of Chicken served to Welsh school children. This is abhorrent on so many levels. Schools should be serving locally sourced whole-foods.
