- Die einjährige Krypto-Haltefrist wird abgeschafft, sodass Gewinne und Transaktionen steuerpflichtig sind.
-Dazu tritt das Kryptowerte-Steuertransparenzgesetz (KStTG / DAC8) in Kraft: Ab 2026 müssen Krypto-Börsen alle Transaktionen, Beträge und Steuer-IDs automatisch ans Finanzamt melden.
- Ausbau der Gesichtserkennung im öffentlichen Raum, Bahnhöfen, Flughäfen - Überall!
Für mich sind diese Kombination aus massiver Überwachung, Kontrolle und steigender steuerlicher Belastung nicht mehr tragbar.

Das EU-Parlament hat mit den Verhandlungen zum digitalen Euro gestartet, gestern gab es in Brüssel die erste Verhandlungsrunde zwischen Parlament, Rat und Kommission. Kurz erklärt: Der digitale Euro ist eine elektronische Form unserer Währung, direkt bei der EZB gehalten statt bei einer Geschäftsbank, online wie offline nutzbar – gedacht als Ergänzung zum Bargeld und als Antwort auf die Abhängigkeit Europas von US-Zahlungsdienstleistern wie Visa, Mastercard oder Paypal, über die neun von zehn Kartentransaktionen in Österreich laufen.
Der Haken: Anders als Bargeld läuft dabei jede Transaktion über eine zentrale Infrastruktur bei der EZB zusammen. Genau diese Zentralisierung ist das Risiko. Die Versuchung, daraus ein Überwachungsinstrument zu machen, wird groß sein – meist nicht aus schlechten Absichten, sondern weil man Menschen etwa vor Betrug schützen will. Doch ist Überwachung erst einmal eingeführt, geht es selten zurück, sondern tiefer ins Kaninchenloch. Die Absicht mag ehrenhaft sein, der Schaden entsteht trotzdem – der Zweck heiligt nicht alle Mittel.
Eine solche zentrale Infrastruktur bleibt bestehen, auch wenn sich politische Mehrheiten verschieben. Was heute als Schutzmechanismus gedacht ist, kann morgen in weniger demokratischen Händen zum Kontrollinstrument werden – Konten sperren, Zahlungen nachverfolgen, auf Knopfdruck. Ein System muss deshalb so gebaut sein, dass es auch im schlechtesten Fall keinen Schaden anrichten kann.
Gelänge diese Balance zwischen Modernisierung und dem Schutz individueller Freiheit, kann der Euro international an Bedeutung gewinnen. Verspielt die EZB dieses Vertrauen, sind wir einen Schritt näher am Überwachungsstaat.
