@brian_trollz lots of amazing ppl, lots of best intentions. but, can't be ignored that wokeness pushed away alot of people and interest, lack of urgency on more basic user needs like indexer, bip39, etc...

Bitcoin Core does have a dysfunction. It's the lack of drive and leadership and willingness to continue pushing the Bitcoin protocol itself forward with improvements at the consensus level. Why does that dysfunction exist? Partially internal issues, and partially shit like a mob of deranged retards screaming Core is compromised because they will not act to censor users the retards don't like at the consensus level. Look in the mirror dumbshits. You are literally a cause of Core's dysfunction while you shriek and misdiagnose where it actually functions properly (refusing to bow to narrative manipulation, or act to censor users at the protocol level) as a dysfunction. "Bitcoiners" are a full blown auto-immune disease at this point.

Bitcoin Optech newsletter #403 is here: - describes research around using binary fuse filters as an alternative to the GCS used in compact block filters - links to an idea for post-quantum HD wallets with fallback SPHINCS keys - summarizes discussion of a post-quantum output type - examines a proposal to embed post-quantum keys in tapscript without consensus changes - summarizes results of a BIP54 demonstration of slow blocks on signet - links to work on post-quantum BIP86 recovery using zk-STARK proofs of BIP32 seeds - Optech Newsletter #403 Podcast

Hosting a bitcoinkernel workshop at @TheBitcoinConf this afternoon. All you need is your laptop and some Python skills. Building your own node has never been easier, and if you manage to catch some blocks in the process - I'm bringing @bitrefill vouchers and @bitcoinbrink swag!

Sebastian is a beast. Unafraid of difficult-to-review changes and jumping into the underlying cryptography. Thank you for 5 years of Bitcoin open source contributions, @theStack 🥂
Brink@bitcoinbrink

This month, we're celebrating five years of Sebastian Falbesoner (@theStack) working on Bitcoin Core and libsecp256k1 at Brink. Sebastian started with often unglamorous test work, steadily widening his scope, and eventually stepping up to steward impactful privacy proposals…

Real world demo of some of the issues that could be fixed by BIP54. The example blocks distributed here are still far from the actual worst-case possible
b10c@0xB10C

I measured block propagation and validation duration during the slow-to-validate blocks on Signet event last week. bnoc.xyz/t/block-propag… The median listening node saw a 160x slowdown in block validation speed. Validation durations for median node: 176ms -> 20s.
