This is an interesting take. Although I would add that Helen Clark was an extraordinary manager as well as being a principled leader. I have not witnessed a NZ Prime Minister as on top of their job as her. thepress.co.nz/nz-news/360801…

@centrist_nz You are nowhere near centrist. You are so far right you can no longer see the centre.

@2ETEKA This guy will only take Wellington backwards. There’s a reason for all his past failed attempts at Mayor - he is too conservative and lacking in any new positive thinking. 0 rates rises means the city will be on its knees and in a much worse state No thx Ray

Wellington has a choice. Either vote for political elite Andrew who will run the city along Labour Party lines, or vote for a self made community man Ray Chung. Ray isn’t a polished political performer but is authentic, Wellington born and hard working and positive. Your local body representatives should also be working in YOUR districts interests. Over and over again we have witnessed the confused MESS that party politics has unleashed on councils. It’s not a glamorous job, it’s about managing infrastructure, roads sewerage water - when candidates speak of “my vision” beware. Too many candidates seek to use a position on the council to platform THEIR political views and not the interests of the community. Andrew Little’s decades in central government stands as a cautionary tale of failure, with costs blowing out while he was Minister of Health while the tax payer got zero improvement, in fact it got worse. Wellington cannot afford more identity politics that will just make the cost of living in wellington escalate. The city of failing and everyone knows it. Ray is undoubtedly the underdog, but a kiwi battler who wants to fix his hometown. Little is a creature of failed ideological politics. Wellington has a choice - Underdog .. or a dog.

Hmmm did the Cabinet manual acknowledge that a Minister would use it to the extent she was? I don’t think so.

Peter Dutton seems to be on track to do a Pierre Poilievre and lose his own seat? NZ's @NicolaWillisMP has never won an electorate seat either.

@paul_melville1 @nickofnz Pay a visit to Borneo where you can see the ecological devastation in real time. The impact to local wildlife is already irreversible and utterly heartbreaking to see. Turning a blind eye to this is your business but please stop trying to play things down.

@nickofnz Deforestation is more related to poor land tenure & poverty. It occurred in areas where palm oil is grown & where it is not. Look at Thailand. End of day, SEA agri is focused on palm oil & PKE is a byproduct. Using a byproduct to produce valuable food is highly sustainable.

BREAKING Greenpeace is taking action to stop a shipload of palm kernel from unloading in Port Taranaki this morning. The PKE comes from Southeast Asia, where it's linked to illegal palm plantations, the death of endangered orangutans and the deforestation of the Paradise Rainforests. Here in Aotearoa, it's destined for @Fonterra dairy farms where it's fed to cows to produce products like Anchor butter. We're calling on Fonterra to ban the use of this blood-soaked palm kernel animal feed on all their farms across Aotearoa.
