For those using OpenClaw at a high level, what’s your favorite default model? I was using Nemotron 3-super locally on my Spark but it hits context limits too quickly. I’m mostly using Sonnet-4.6 now but API costs rack up fast. I love my claw but honestly haven’t optimized models and model switching as much as I should. I like the bigger context windows when building out new skills and automations so it doesn’t forget what we’re building but that’s also when API costs soar. I like my local models because I have a Spark for that reason but context windows aren’t great on the local models I’ve tried… Looking for advice from some more experienced OpenClawers.

@LLMJunky Looks pretty right that translation there. This is why I will never work for anyone. It's so much better choosing your own battles and lose, than losing for someone else's lofty ambitions. Do I make less money, sure. But, I also choose my own path. Every day.

I just left @xai It was not an easy decision. The past three months were an absolute blast - I've been in many trenches in my life and can say this was by far one of the most intense warzones. I love fighting. Especially being in the trenches with my friends, working on problems that will actually advance humanity. But the current environment wasn't serving my growth. And that's a really hard thing to admit - I've always looked up to Elon, and I genuinely believe xAI will win. I still do. One thing I'll say: don't stay somewhere just because of the name. If you're unhappy, and you know you can't grow 100x where you are - it's the right call to leave. What's next? Get some sleep back. Then find the next trench worth fighting in. I'll always be meeting exceptional people - that was never because of a recruiting title. I just love finding smart people and helping however I can. Many more side quests to come!!!

@LLMJunky @OpenAIDevs Yeah. Not working too well. It struggles with figuring out coordinates from images. It's easier for it to deal with pure code, and add the knowledge it is missing when it reads it.

@bjornfix @OpenAIDevs i have been experimenting with "calibration" for something like this, where if it misclicks, it can check itself against a reference image and work out how far off it is from where it thought it should be but with limited success

WOW! I'm so excited about this. @OpenAIDevs said Codex was good at Computer Use, but I wasn't prepared for this. For the last two weeks I've been working on a Computer Use skill to work with Linux. And while I had some success, it was a pretty frustrating experience. That is...until the breakthrough. Using accessibility tools, Codex can now control my entire computer, not just the browser. There are limits to this, of course, but what a time to be alive. This Computer Use skill will unlock and entirely new set of automations, all powered by Codex. Demonstration below 👇

@LLMJunky @OpenAIDevs When I developed a Gutenberg plugin with codex, I got it to build into the plugin itself self-learning and adding what it learned. It works pretty well. Maybe it could do the same for you in a script of sorts? When it bumps into somewhere where ally is missing, add it.

@LLMJunky @bitcoinlanparty @OpenAIDevs Yeah. The most important is that it does not get completely lost. I have seen that happen a few times where I had to stop it. Also, it forgets to use ally after a while, so it needs a reminder sometimes. I guess that could be solved with a hook.

@LLMJunky @OpenAIDevs I think it also depends on what Linux distro you are on. Some are better at accessibility than others. Mint is decent, and I think Ubuntu is pretty good as well.

@bjornfix @OpenAIDevs it does, but it really depends on how much is exposed to a11y. for some things you can tell it goes back to "dumb mode" where it struggles to click the right place.

@LLMJunky @OpenAIDevs The a11y angle is smart. Using the accessibility layer instead of raw screenshots means the AI actually understands what it is looking at rather than guessing from pixels. Curious how it handles apps that expose nothing useful through that layer at all

@LLMJunky Screenshots only show what the page looks like. An accessibility tree shows what the page is, so it is much easier to understand and interact with for the AI

@LLMJunky simply ask it to use ally tree instead of taking screenshots. watch how it suddenly has no problems navigating

I have been doing research on building a Computer Use model for a couple weeks now, and it's not easy to do. Each monitor is different, and the screenshots generally get compressed, making it even more difficult for the model to click in the right place. Excited to try this!

Today, we’re releasing a feature that allows Claude to control your computer: Mouse, keyboard, and screen, giving it the ability to use any app. I believe this is especially useful if used with Dispatch, which allows you to remotely control Claude on your computer while you’re away.

@atmoio By the way: Google has been doing this for years in their serps. No adsense on your pornsite. But, lots of porn ads right in the serps for all the juicy search phrases.

@atmoio They do have a monetization problem though. I can't really blame them for trying to figure that out, even if porn is where it's at. Somehow, they have to deliver results to their shareholders.
