On the macroeconomic side, the Central Bank of Nigeria has injected liquidity into the foreign exchange market to stabilise the Naira amid global pressures, which is why, instead of seeing the Naira plummet during this crisis, as has been happening to other currencies globally, the Nigerian currency has rather stabilised and then appreciated against the Dollar, appreciating to ₦1,345 to the Dollar on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. This means that Nigeria and Nigerians will see their purchasing power rise slightly to match the likely increase in inflation resulting from the Middle East crisis.
