As a backend dev, You see this query pattern in logs: GET /api/v1/products?sort=price&order=asc Triggered 10K times per minute. What are your next steps?

@P_Abuo Why don’t you search and filter LinkedIn post using “Hiring “ “remote “ + your backend Filter down by 24 hours or week to get and sort by latest. You will see companies posts and email to submit resume

@Akintola_steve But I strongly believe that even if it's statically typed, it wouldn't support multi threading out of the box, given that it's written on top of node/express.

You are very strong in Node.js and Java. You also have solid depth in databases like MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle, time-series databases, and MSSQL Server. A client reaches out to you saying they want to build an application in the fintech space. What would be your choice of stack and architecture, with proper reasoning?

If Node js is single threaded then how does it handle concurrency ?

@Akintola_steve PostgreSQL strongly follows the ACID Principle, has better support for complex queries, and has rich data types, better indexing, which boosts performance for different workloads.

@Akintola_steve I'll use PostgreSQL and Java. Java is statically typed, which means errors are mostly caught b4 the app runs, also it has strong concurrency and multi treading tool, since fintech process many transactions at once, this makes the system faster and most reliable, and performant.

Your backend is slow, and you think it’s your server. It’s not. It’s your code making 8,000 database calls instead of one, and you have no idea it’s happening. This is James’s story, and it will change how you write queries forever.

Please load test your API before going live. Load testing is just the ability of your system to handle expected and peak traffic by simulating real-world usage, helping you understand how it behaves under stress, where it breaks, and how it scales. These are 3 good load testing tools: k6 Apache JMeter Locust These would save you a whole bunch of production issues once your user base starts growing.

@Akintola_steve Yes I did. I've been studying this queuing thing for a while now. Beyond basic understanding.

Emeka's startup processed 50,000 naira every minute. Then TechCabal featured them. In 4 minutes, everything was gone. The database. The payments. The investors' trust. All because of one backend concept every Nigerian engineer skips. Let me show you what killed them.

@fidexcode I like using it inside useEffect hook for API calls in the Frontend too.

@fidexcode IIFE (immediately invoke function expression) It does exactly what the name say..😂 Calls the function inside it immediately. First time in saw it was when I was learning backend with node.
