His love for and knowledge of the music was astounding and regular listeners have learned such a lot. We’ve enjoyed it all as much as the ‘big names’ have enjoyed coming on!

@FXMC1957 Kenny laughed at the BBC, they asked him back after sacking him several times and I’ll bet he upped his fee each time!

18 July 1970. BBC DJ, Kenny Everett, was sacked, after joking that Mary Peyton, wife of Tory transport minister, John Peyton, passed her driving because "she probably crammed a fiver into the examiner's hand". A BBC boss later admitted they were looking for an excuse to sack him.
