Saying this as a lifelong UNC guy:
The “family” thing has to come to an end. At least for now. If somebody eventually “comes back home” like Roy Williams did, then all is well & good & it makes for a triumphant story.
But continuing this madness just to “stay in the family??”

The worst thing Roy Williams ever did at UNC was the last thing he ever did at UNC.
Hand-picking Davis for arguably the best job in college hoops has set this program back years. It’s been a painful run, and it needs to end now.
Hire outside the UNC family.

It’s great that Hubert Davis is a devoted father, loving husband, loyal friend, and always loans cups of sugar to his neighbors, but it doesn’t mean he should remain the head coach at UNC.

Hate to say it but you probably have to go outside the family. This is the most prestigious job in the sport. There will be plenty of interest.
