@PapaJim1977 @ScottishFA @spfl Prob because sevco lost all them games after the split and hearts drew 1 and won 1 out of about 8 games. Celtic should never of been able to win the title but the other 2 bottled it

The most tainted title in history. Well done @ScottishFA and @spfl I hope the legal action coming your way is massive. Absolutely massive. Celtic were only in the title race due to direct match fixing.

🚨🎙️Thierry Henry on why Celtic’s goal should have been ruled out as offside and Hearts have a case for a 3-0 forfeit, applies the laws of the game to it: “Football laws are supposed to be based on consistency, not emotion. And when you actually break this game down properly, there are two enormous controversies that, in my opinion, completely changed the outcome of the title race and the SPFL just let it happen. First, that Maeda ‘goal’ that made it 2-1? It should never have stood. Law 11 is crystal clear: Offside is judged at the moment the ball is played by a teammate. The scorer was offside when the initial pass went in, lurking in an illegal position for a good 3 seconds, gaining a massive positional advantage. Then he benefits from it and pokes it home. That’s gaining an advantage from an offside position, textbook offence. VAR drew their lines on the ‘second pass’ and said ‘onside,’ but that’s gaslighting. The player carried the illegal head-start straight into the goal. They hand Celtic the title momentum. Disgraceful. Then comes the real scandal. Osmand bangs in the third with 30+ seconds left, game has to restart. Kick-off, more time to be played. Instead? Thousands of Celtic fans storm the pitch. Hearts players assaulted, shoved, punched, chased. Lawrence Shankland and others physically attacked. Chaos. No proper restart. Game abandoned due to home fans’ violence. Law 5,The Referee: Full authority to abandon for outside interference. When one side’s supporters prevent the match from finishing and assault the opposition? Forfeit. Precedents exist, teams have been handed 3-0 losses for far less pitch invasions. SPFL/SFA competition rules allow awarding the match to the innocent team. Hearts players had to be escorted out for safety. The game was never completed fairly. look at Slavia Prague recently getting a forfeit 3-0 loss for a similar pitch invasion in their derby. Fans storm, game can’t finish? Opponents get the win. Simple. That’s why this game will always leave a stain on the title race for a lot of people. A controversial offside interpretation followed by a match that technically never reached its proper sporting conclusion because of crowd interference. And somehow Celtic come away with the league-winning result untouched. Football rules are either applied equally or they mean nothing.”

SFA needs to show a scintilla of responsibility and leadership and introduce proper sanctions for pitch invasions from next season - stand closure, closed doors games, points deduction, forfeiture of a game. This stuff has to stop. It’s getting worse

Initially I thought Nicholson headed the ball, after multiple views/images from different angles, I now see it hit his hand. None of our esteemed pundits, one of which can barely string a cogent sentence together, have said this. It’s ok to admit you were wrong sometimes lads!

@MarkGordonMedia That’s your prerogative, but in no way does the further evidence conclusively show anything different to what was shown at the time. If anything, Celtic’s footage shows less of a handball.

Why was it no pen Henry? Ref was advised to go to the monitor and made the call. It was still a subjective call. John Beaton with his own eyes deemed it as handball. Was he wrong? Did the ball not hit the hand of Sam Nicholson in an unnatural position…
Henry Winter@henrywinter

Celtic’s penalty was certainly a debatable decision. Impossible to be definitive either way, hence current widespread inquest, so they really should have stayed with original on-field. No pen. Understandable anger amongst Motherwell and Hearts coaches, players and supporters. Hearts now travel to Celtic Park for a title decider. The Foundation of Hearts, which owns 75% of the club, has called “on those responsible for the officiating of Saturday’s match to ensure that the highest standards of decision-making are applied, so that the game is decided by the players on the pitch and the team is given the fair opportunity it has earned”. Strong words. North and South of the Border the quality of officiating - and consistency – has been questioned this season. The problem is not the technology but those using it. There are some very competent officials about. But more are needed. Whether the Fir Park hand-ball was the worst decision ever is a moot point. Here are a few that spring immediately to mind, clear-cut mistakes, bound to trigger some frustrated flashbacks, in no particular order…. Diogo Dalot on Jeremy Doku, somehow only a yellow. Michael Keane on Doku, somehow only a yellow. Jordan Pickford taking out Virgil van Dijk. Harry Kane foot up on Andy Robertson. Tomas Soucek stopping a shot from Conor Gallagher with his hand. Rodri hand-ball against Everton. On it goes. Elliot Anderson on Ollie Watkins, cleared on review, mad. Kelechi Iheanacho denied a goal for Celtic against Braga when VAR ruled he’d handled when the ball came off his cheek. Gabriel not being dismissed for lowering his forehead into Erling Haaland. Luis Diaz punished for a non-existent offside when scoring for Liverpool against Tottenham. Lee Mason left his VAR job “by mutual consent” and PGMO apologised after he failed to draw the lines and spot Christian Norgaard offside in the build-up to Ivan Toney scoring for Brentford, costing Arsenal two points. And many others. The problem isn’t the technology; it’s the people using it, with the additional issue in Scotland of whether there is sufficient investment in the technology infrastructure. VAR is the safety net - but currently with too many holes.

Seen too many freeze frames of Nicholson handballing. He does handball it. No question. Here’s a freeze frame as Nicholson is just about to jump as high as he can for the ball. Trusty is yards away. Nicholson only has eyes on the ball the whole time. He uses his arms as leverage like anyone does. The only reason he handballs is it because Trusty runs from behind, jumps through Nicholson and knocks his arm into the ball. No pen
