I wish these global girl groups would start including a Black American member if they’re gonna use our music and style

It’s not “diaspora wars” for Black Americans to have some for ourselves. y’all literally have your own heritage months, days, festivals, organizations, resources, and spaces. It’s only when Black Americans wanna do the same then u cry “wE aLL BLaCk!”

We advocated for it. We had a whole movement and started our own companies. yall need to to destroy that “we don’t see race like gringos” narrative first in your community because even in Latin America yall barely get properly represented, not just in the states

“afro-latinos play black americans all the time” — have you ever considered that the reason that happens is because afro-latinos don’t get cast as latinos because they don’t “look latino” to hollywood? and are typecast in black american roles as a result? like please

Miles is BOTH. A full blooded Afro Latino actor who happens to live in America does not represent Miles! If yall have such a problem with a full blooded Black American playing him then make sure yall upset when it’s the other way around

U just proved the issue. He is not a Black American, he is a full Puerto Rican who moved to the Mainland. Black American/African American is not a catch all term for Black ppl in America, its a real ethnicity. Yall think a full Afro Latino living in America is enough rep for us

Mind you one of the most famous Puerto Ricans in history was a African American Puerto Rican believe it or not they actually exist

@Zap_TFS Well if I have to ask what they mean then they’re using it incorrectly and have been for the past months over this discourse and that’s a problem all in itself

@blaxsupreme seriously, go ask anyone asking for him to be played by an afro latino what they mean. because in the end what youll get is they want him to be played by someone who is basically half black american and half puerto rican descent. thats what theyre using the term to describe.

Yall use this argument like clockwork. Its always “same ppl different ports” & “this Carribean person help do this!” When they wanna claim something Black American. U never see Black Americans do it in reverse cus we dont care to claim their stuff even if we heavily influenced it
Ashley Reese@offbeatorbit

Caribbean vs American black diaspora wars are particularly stupid to me bc it is literally a “same boat, different drop off points” situation like…we kin what you yellin about

Yall really need to stop using Haiti success as if it applies for the rest of the Caribbean.

The difference is enslaved Caribbean ppl were 80+% of their populations. Black Americans never made more than like 20% here. Even then, our revolts relatively had the same amount of yt casualties as Jamaica revolts and we had bigger revolts than Bahamas, Barbados, Trinidad, & etc
T@The20th_letter

If we really being honest we are descendants of Africans who conformed, the ones in the Caribbean were the ones they couldn’t break so they left them there… at least that’s what I was taught lmaoo

This “enslaved ppl are immigrants” argument is disgusting. Comparing ppl forced into slavery to willing immigrants is disrespectful. And do those ppl consider Afro Jamaicans immigrants to Jamaica & Afro Brazilians immigrants to Brazil or does that only applies to Black Americans?

most plantation owners didnt live in the Caribbean and it was European troops deployed in Africa & Asia to extract resources to profit their own countries back home. None of those were a settler project to the extent America was and I’m tired of ppl acting like it’s the same case

Comparing separatist movements & rebellions in former EXPLOITATION colonies where the ppl already was majority & thousands of milies away from Europe to Black Americans in the SETTLER colony America is where we never made more than 25% living besides yts isn’t a good comparison

The problem is, many Black Americans are loyalist to their state and/or city. Convincing enough of us to move states would be a hassle, especially Mississippi, Which I find the easiest to takeover. But Georgia is 2nd after and most likely be more intriguing for the populace

Im all for Black Americans getting land but I dont think we’re ready for a full out war. We should start slow and takeover a state like Mississippi. It offers a clean slate to build on due to its already lack of it & cheap land. We can easily outcompete yts there if we invested

My Black People, Afro-Americans, whatever you want to call yourselves. The u.s isn't the end all,be all. If our culture is global that means our bodies MUST become global. All we need is one city. Not even a country, thats ideal but not a requirement. Just one (1) city.
